A Research-Based Approach to Tactical Performance and Injury Mitigation
A Life of Teaching
Meet Coach Ryan Brod
My name is Ryan Brod, and I bring over two decades of combined experience in health, fitness, and tactical performance. I proudly served as a Preventive Medicine Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy for nine years on active duty. Following my military service, I continued my passion for physical fitness and education by becoming a certified personal trainer for 4 years and teaching middle school Health and Physical Education for more than 8 years, while also coaching high school wrestling. I later served as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, where I’ve spent close to 4 years training Navy SEAL and SWCC candidates helping to prepare the next generation of elite tactical operators for the physical demands of their career. Currently, I teach middle school physical education. As a doctoral student, I continuing to develop my expertise in injury prevention and performance enhancement.
Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, I now reside in San Diego, California with my wife, son, and our dog Lia. My research focuses on investigating the contributing factors and prevention strategies of lower extremity musculoskeletal injuries (LEMSI) in tactical populations. This portfolio reflects my professional philosophy and includes artifacts that highlight my commitment to understanding the causes, therapeutic practices, and mitigation strategies to reduce the occurrence of LEMSI in high-performance environments.
